It is nice of all you tax payers to help him stay home but are you really willing to let it go on and on?
Perhaps you should ask why your son would rather take Unemployment insurance instead of having you babysit.

Because the jobs he can take do not have the right hours. Selling cars needs people to work at night and on the weekends. He and his wife like it better when he is home and doing things around the house.

If he wants to do that from no until the kids are in school then fine but should you tax payers subsidise him? If his unemployment goes away he may go to work or decide the money his wife makes is enough for them and live that way. Until then he will take the money and probably stay home,

Your theory would be correct if the unemployment rate was 5% but its double that. When have you seen it this bad? You haven't unless you were living in the great depression. And only 10% of the holiday workers will be hired full time after the season ends. Companies are worred because when the Bush tax cuts expire at the end of the year, they won't be hiring they probably will be laying more regular full time employees. There are 15 million people unemployed and there has been only 800,000 jobs created in 2010 (end of Sept). So for you to state that its the same unemployed crowd that it was ten years ago is just incorrect.

Here is a quote from a Republican:
Added Rep. Mike Pence, the No. 3 Republican in the House: "We're facing a fiscal crisis in this country. If we're going to choose to extend unemployment again we've got to find a way to pay for it."
I AGREE with Rep Pence. It should be paid for. And we can start paying for it by scrapping the Bush tax cuts. I would scrap ALL of them but especially the ones for the rich.

Could take it from there as well.

Well..extend it then and make it the same limit as welfare..what's that 5 years.
Just figure out how to fund it.

Then at the end of 5 years they fall off the rolls..just like the welfare folks do.

^ well that is surprising since most car salesmen are considered self employed & are commission based. Unless he is salary based how does he get Unemployment Insurance?

My husband took a 50% pay decrease just to go back to work when he was laid off. The younger generation won't do that. Government has taught them to get the free money and become dependent on government hand outs.

That is true and that is why Bush was a horrible President. People forget that the country was in good shape fiscally and economically when that stupid dumb idiot clown rode to town after stealing the election and being appointed by the Supreme Court. Then he proceeded to WRECK the country fiscally and economically. First with his Medicare Part D program that would have been a good idea if it did not turn into a give away to big pharma and if taxes had been adjusted to pay for it. Then he started 2 wars "off budget" and cut taxes on top of that. He ruined the country. I am going to try Bush's deal and tell Georgia Power that "my electric bill is off budget" and see how long they let me not pay it.
