Where is the misrepresentation?

That in socialism, the lawn mower, would be the "shared item" by the community, and you could use it to cut it yourself. No one would be paid. No union dues.
If you felt like getting somebody else to do it, you could offer payment.

Bad example. But typical.

Keep in mind that the Constitution requires the Government to provide certain things - including a National Defense.

Some taxes are necessary IMO to allow for Constitutionally required mandates. How we get those taxes are the debate.

That will work.....er.....well?

Thats completely false, I see people mowing other people's yards ALL the time... so for you to say that, is completely wrong and stupid...

However, to the OP, sure that's capitalism but what we have now is NOT capitalism, it is corporatism... its fine that you support capitalism but know that what we have now and in the past was never TRUE capitalism otherwise we would be in a much better place...

The scenario is not exactly true, in true capitalism it would be more like $15... socialism would be more like $5... for the same job...

Ah, so no government for you at all. I just wonder where the diabled, the elderly and the orphans will go in this system. Since they have nothing to offer to gain money, who will take care of them?

I think C-D should limit posters to people who have at least some understanding of reality.
Uhm, attack the message not the messenger.

Right. But I wasn't talking about corportism. I was talking about capitalism.

Ireland had no governemnt for 400 years. Families took care of their own.

It still happens all the time. Children have nothing to offer financially. Their parents take care of them.
