My initial impression is that the office portion will go along pretty well with Three PNC and the upcoming PNC Tower, and isn't overshadowing the lovely historic highrises along Fourth.

The hotel portion, on the other hand, strikes me as really ungainly and outdated. About all I can say in its favor is that I can see how they are making use of "Market Square views".
Looks like its stretching all the way to Wood Street? which means the old McDonald facade will be seeing the wrecking ball too.

No, they are using a lot of perspective in that rendering, but it stops short of that corner building (see The Gardens on this map):

The good news is that supposedly the corner building is getting renovated as part of the new projects along that block of Wood spearheaded by the PHLF.

By the way, the last farmer's market of the season in Market Square is tomorrow, and the PDP is inviting people to come make it a big send-off:

Market Square Pittsburgh: "A Farewell To Farms"

I might note that if you haven't been, it is fun to visit even if you aren't planning to buy anything . . . it gets a real festival atmosphere.

Just going off the rendering, it looks like the parking garage is under the office portion (I'm ignoring the car that looks like it is trying to drive through a storefront), and I would guess access will be on both Forbes and Fourth, but it could be just Forbes.

That it does. I don't know if that has been officially announced, but Millcraft has a long-standing relationship with that brand, so it would make sense.

that block of forbes could make a good location for a pedestrian only street. none too impressed with millcraft's architecture, even the name of the development smacks of suburban mindset. it's a shame that hilton garden will mar the sq with its schlock...what other brand would want their name associated with that building? what's next, a 15 story meadow run project? oh well, a fair trade for a hotel and new office space I guess.

No, it will stop at or near the old Kodak building.

That seems to be a pretty accurate description of most Greater Pittsburgh drivers that I've had the misfortune of being struck by over the past five weeks.

It clearly shows a Hilton Garden Inn logo, but I thought that's what they were going to put up at Ross St?

I'm thinking that project may be dead.
