The top killer of police is not guns or violence. It’s COVID-19

They should put all the unvaccinated police and firemen on leave like they’re doing in New York.

There's a very good chance NYC will go up in flames soon. DeBlasio is like the Joker in Batman movies. At least the pyromaniacs won't have to post bail afterwards.

It's a non story. Leading cause of death in general is Covid. Just another dumb headline to get angry over police. What else is new?

Its not a story to rational people but there are plenty of people, including people that post here, that insist COVID deaths are inflated if not a complete hoax. On an aside, the entire topic of whether or not certain deaths should "count" COVID deaths is entirely mundane. Deaths increased by 20% in 2020 compared to 2019. If the COVID deniers have another explanation, I'd love to hear it (thats a lie, I really don't want to hear their conspiracy theories).

I'm pretty sure the cops in NYC just drive around in their cars now anyway. Firefighters, on the other hand, are still fighting fires. But not in the coming weeks. Since it's so common for people to be unable to anticipate the consequences of their beliefs and actions, I guess the average voter there doesn't know.

As for the pols, they don't care. They'll figure out how to make money for themselves off the destruction.

Just another day. I’m sure a social worker will talk the poor criminal through his problems and get him back on the street.
