I lived near there about 30 years ago and it was bad even then. I haven't been back in years but I can't imagine anyone WANTING to live in that mess. Stay away!

Thanks for the help to everyone. I'm actually long out of school and not thinking about going to ASU personally -- trying to help some friends of ours. I'll tell them to look elsewhere.

It's not an area I would like to live. On the plus side, traffic clears up just beyond that curve in the morning.

I lived in the townhouses for about 5 years til I was 13. It was an interesting experience there was a lot of crap went on in there. I wouldnt recommend it personally especially if youre thinking long term living. Even when I was there they referred to it as the "projects."

Default 48th st & Broadway, Phoenix

this is a low income area. People that live in this area get good deals renting these townhomes. this used to be public housing but is not anymore. there is security here and hoa. Still, this area is a place to stop until better income can be found, not an area to plan your future unless of course you lived in less. As long as you mind your own business and are friendly without being fearful your fine here. The people here that have problems are those that get involved with things they shouldnt do in the first place. In other words, if your into drugs, gangs, and violence you might get shot and killed here from those dabling in the same. If your clean and are stopping here to move on to your next place youll be fine. Dont be quick to judge. We all have to start somewhere. with our economy, this is one of the better places to be when you have near nothing to live on.
