Hi there. We will be visiting the Phoenix area and want to keep hotel costs down so we are considering a LaQuinta hotel. Can anyone tell me if the location at 47th & Thomas is generally a safe area (Arcadia area)?

I should add that I used to live in Phoenix years ago, so I am somewhat familiar with the layout of the area, but just not how the different sections of the city have evolved over the years. I believe this LaQuinta has doors facing the outside (as opposed to interior hallways) so I want to make sure this is a safe area.

Thanks for any feedback.

I live near that area and I think the area is safe. That's not to say that something can't happen just as it could in Hotels/Resorts in Scottsdale. There are also some nice Hotels on 44th Street just North of Van Buren. I have been in several of them and they are really nice.

The DoubleTree on that corner is very nice, and quite close to the Chinese Cultural Center for meals.
