In lighter, more appealing, news...

I've been asked to venture out to a sports bar called Cocomo Joe in Cave Creek tonight. I'm going to assume this place has NBC Sports and that is why I accepted the invite.

Go, Yotes, go!
I'm excited as well. Game 1 was so much fun to watch.

Thanks for sharing the history behind the Glendale locations for the Yotes and Cardinals from longtime residents. Doesn't surprise me Scottsdale would turn away a pro sports team either. Got all that open space east of 101 on the res too. Should of considered making a sweetheart offer to the res and give them a slice of the pie.

I was wrong. They are hardly mediocre. Congrats to the Coyotes. Huge win!

Huge win is an understatement. Now it's time for Nashville.
The Suns, Diamondbacks and Cardinals (also the Mercury and the Rattlers) had their time in the party, now it belongs to the Dogs.

Great win on the road in Chicago.

Mike Smith was amazing in goal last night. Chicago out shot the Coyotes 28-6 by the end of the second.

The Coyotes won their first-round playoff series since moving to Phoenix from Canada.

Now they have to face Nashville but I think they can pull off some more wins if they keep going strong.

Go Coyotes.

I can't say I'll be a Coyotes fan (learned the sport in Dallas and grew up with the Stars), but I'm really happy to see Dave Tippett and crazy ol' Mike Smith succeed here. If the Yotes stick around with the whole ownership mess, and I certainly hope they do, I"ll be a quasi-regular out there.

I'm pulling for the 'Yotes franchise, but the playoff run ends now!

Really hope they stick around though, since we're planning on moving to Phoenix this summer. Also want to play some adult hockey - it seems like there are plenty of leagues.
