I wouldn’t confuse the views of a handful of grumpy CD posters with reality. Anyone who chooses to call Philadelphia home will be welcomed by pretty much everyone in town. How do I know that? From the welcome we’ve received since moving here 8+ years back.

My generation didn't get the golden goose economy where we could stay at one employer for decades on end in one city and retire comfortably. We have to constantly jump around to get the best opportunity and that is exactly what I'm doing. It's not personal, it's reality.
You don't really know me so there's literally no way you can and will understand me. While we are part of the lgbtq community we are generations apart and different genders so, again, we won't click on a variety of things. Just how it is.

The economic crisis was hell for millions of Gen-X and Boomers. However I know how the fallout from that has impacted Mills. indirectly and it scares me that we may actually have a recession next year. It will be hell for you guys. More than hell.

Curbed reported that he got only about one-third of the money he sought; it was my understanding that the grant had been denied completely, and Dranoff said this when I asked him about it. I do know that he applied for the RACP grant twice. Absent the grant, he reworked the project as a condo-only building.
According to this Curbed article, Dranoff is using the RACP money towards a restaurant in the building:

It wasn’t until late last year that Dranoff announced he was scrapping the hotel portion of the project entirely, after only receiving $1.4 million of the $19 million he needed from a Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant to complete the hotel portion. Now, Dranoff says, the money they did secure from RACP grants over the years—amounting to about $2.4 million—will go toward a restaurant on the first floor of the building.
