Yes Lawn Guylind...the land of big hair, Friendlys turkey melts and watermelon ice cream roll slices, cruising Main Street, Port Jeff and landing a summer job in the Hamptons is every teens wet dream but you end up at Taco Bell nightmare.
Ah, Lawn Guylind - don't forget those of us who never even saw the Hamptons when we lived there and who always associated Fire Island with the beach instead of gay culture. Mrs X - did I tell you I lived in Port Jeff for the first two years of grad school? Right across from the ferry and the parking lot where the motorcycle guys hung out - they used to watch my car for me.
Hope everyone has a good day! I am (surprise, surprise) cranky as all get out after being woken up every two hours by DH and his various pieces of technology that beep last night. Growl.
Stop talking about all of this ice cream because it all sounds soooo good and I am trying to keep my butt small enough to at least fit on a love seat.
So, I kept meaning to mention on here that when DD was staying with various family members during our trip, she had a lot of fun. The one things she kept talking about though was going to the marina/aquarium and seeing this dolphin. She brought me a post card to show me the dolphin and kept talking about it. "Winter the dolphin lost part of its tail so they made a prosthetic tail for it." Yes, she used the word prosthetic (with a lisp). lol She talked about it every day. Suddenly about a week ago, I am watching tv and a new movie preview came on about this dolphin that lost part of its tail... It turns out it was a big deal around here when they were filming it and somehow I just missed it all. Now she is very excited to go see this movie about this dolphin that she is obsessed with.
I think it is pretty cool that a true story took place in our back yard and that DD knew about it before I did.
