Just checking in to say take care to all in the path of Irene.....we'll be thinking of you all. And yes please let us know how you're doing when you can!
Coop - glad your back is somewhat better...hopefully that will continue. I'm with you on the heat. And it's not even cooling down much at night. I think it was still close to 80 when I was watching the news. Blech.
My sister went through Katrina - not hearing from her for days was horrible.
I don't know what is worse with this sort of thing - out of the blue sort of event (tornado, earthquake) or something that you have days to contemplate that is "looming".
I have to listen to this damned song too many times a day thanks to DD's obsession with it, so I'm now going to inflict it on y'all. May I just say for the record that Young Mick Jagger was incredibly hawt! NSFW
Hopes have you heard from your sister? Did she and the family get out ok?
East Coasters better to be safe than sorry. Even if you do not get the full brunt the rain will cause flooding.
Num--yes I too thought that!
MM this heat needs to disappear! I use to love the heat but now I detest it. I miss the English or NYC weather so much, funny enough I miss rain. I know people get seasonal depression due to gloomy weather but all this sunshine with brown grass is having a similar effect on me.
RKB--thank you and good on you!! I wish I could rep you.
Morning all. I'm thinking of all of you coping with Irene. (The offering must include the song "Goodnight, Irene".) We're under the 5th day of a hit advisory which means up over 110 and night time lows in the 90's. Supposed to last through Sunday. Uggy buggy, the weather's suggy.
Hey FR - good news: we've been downgraded from hurricane warning to tropical storm warning. Still pretty high winds and risk of flooding, but beats the heck out of a hurricane, right?
Two more supplies since I'm a worrier. Pre-moistened wipes in case you can't take a shower for a while. The giant size are by the adult diapers. And large plastic bags. You can line your toilet with them in case you can't flush the john. (And you don't have a porta potty.) Yes, my earthquake supplies were endless.
Thanks for Mick in the Morning, Zim.
