Never played horseshoes, croquette or badmitton. I don't have a favorite summer time game, I HATE summer. I never go to the beach or pool, it's way too HOT to be outside for me. I have told my husband he was redolent
That airplane must be in a neighborhood with super-rednecks! Not just cars on blocks anymore.
Today's Question(s): Lets venture into the outside summer game venue Have you ever played Horseshoes ? Yes, at a family reunion. Did we do this at school too? I think so. Croquette ? We had a croquet set at home when I was a kid. Sometimes actually used it. Maybe it was a 70s fad. Hey, we also had a volleyball net, now that you mention it. Badminton ? We did this at school in PE. What were they thinking?
Bonus Question: What is your favorite outside summer game ?
My favorite sports activity period: swimming.
Extra Credit Question: What is your favorite thing to take to the beach or pool ?
Beach: crackers for the gulls. It is fun to have them hover overhead and swoop down to take a cracker from your fingers.
Both: sunscreen, or I'm gonna be regretting it for days.
Bonus Extra Credit Question: If someone you knew really well was "redolent" in a "not so good way", would you let them know ?
How could they not know? But if they seemed clueless , yes!

You're right, about TV. The Academy Awards are for motion pictures and were broadcast up til the 50's on radio.. TV came into reality in the late 40's and usually were only local B&W stations. Color TV came into popularity the mid 50's.
