Regarding greeting cards: I think it takes a true talent to find just the right card. I don't possess that talent. It also takes patience and I am not blessed with patience when it comes to looking at cards.
What I ended up doing several years ago was buying an assortment of handmade cards from a seller on ebay. They were and are spectacular with buttons, feathers, tiny fishing rods, golf clubs (for the men in my life as none of the women play golf). These cards have been a great success because they are so personal. Some of them I could not give away because I like them so much.
It's not the cards, but what they charge for them.. a fairly simple card can cost over $3.00.. and, the recipient will most likely throw the card away..
