I'd just written up the peeve of the day when we had our second or third outage of the morning, so the peeve I did have ready to go just as the power went off was lost in the ether. I also got woken up early, hence my grumpiness.
So, lots for me to choose from today, but we'll go with-
Getting power outages.
For the Brits among us, that is a temporary loss of supply of electrical power. We call them power cuts.
Yes, very frustrating especially when you're in the middle of something on the computer. I don't have too many power outages here, thank goodness, but I did at all the other places I've lived.
Everything out here in suburbia is underground, so power outages are rare. I keep a generator ready to run important things like heat and refrigerator.
I can so relate to the peeve today, Jezer. Our weather was great until last night when a front blew in - blew being the operative word. Power went on and off throughout the night and my expensive surge protector that all my electronics are plugged into would start beeping to let me know. Between that and wondering if my roof was going to blow off, didn't sleep good and was up reaaaaaaaaaaal early. It happens here enough that I do quick saves on data or try to copy real quick and paste into a word doc. Sometimes I'm fast enough, sometimes I'm unfortunately not and lose everything
It happens here in NE during stormy weather but usually not for long periods of time. The really long outages occur during winter ice storms when tree branches fall and take the power lines down with them. My longest outage, since I've been here, was about 36 hours but sometimes, depending on the extent of the damage, it can take several days to get the juice flowing again.
Location: I never said I was perfect so no refunds here sorry!

Yeah this is no fun at all after you've been through a couple...lived on the east coast and had many a time where bad weather or a hurricane would come through and remember being without power for days!
Lol I agree on the power outages, and even as an electrician, I cant perform miracles.....all I can do is highly recommend surge protectors thoughout the house.
Good post!
