Good morning peevers and welcome to the weekend.

Well Phew! Miss J is safely ensconced in her new residence of her new University abode.

The station wagon did a great job of carting us and all that stuff there. Once there and having unloaded everything it was off to a place I'd rather not be at- IKEA.

I know that it is incredibly popular worldwide and was just what we needed for some cheap and cheerful furniture for Miss J so I just had to grin and bear it.

Then comes the fun bit back at Miss J's bedsit- putting the stuff together.

In fairness we did a good job (always travel with an electric screwdriver! ). Much was down to Mrs J's ability to decipher 2D plans into 3D furniture!

Things have not always gone smoothly with self assembly products, and I wonder how you peevers have faired in the past.

Well we're going to find out because the POTD is;

Self assembly products.

I'm just adding a shot taken just now showing the lovely start to the day;

I am at my all-time worst when it comes to assembly required. I put in our storm screen door last fall and had about 20 screws left over.

Beautiful pic, Jezer! Thanks for including! That is a lovely start to a day!

Miss J is lucky to have such wonderful parents. She will be a mix of missing you very much and excitement about her new adventures.

I'm with you on IkEA. I went to one once and couldn't wait to get out which was quite a trip since their "exit" sign in every department leads round and round to other departments and then another to make sure you don't get out without passing every department. Whew!

Self assembly products are most annoying when parts are missing. I do okay with putting things together because I lay out all the pieces on the floor, separate them and confirm, take a look all the way through steps of putting it together and then start.

The last thing I assembled was a desk with shelves and a stand-alone printer stand. Everything would have been fine - had the instructions not been printed backwards I had to reverse everything in my head just to assemble the thing. Took me all day to put it together

I don't mind the assembly, what I do mind is when a part is missing that wasn't packed making it impossible to finish the job.
