I ran across an article on it about a decade ago, about Canadian history. The French trappers got the name from the Assiniboine, and carried it west. Back then, of course, national borders were only theoretical, if that.

Here's an article from the Oregon Historical Society research quarterly from 2004, discussing Major Robert Rogers' use of "Ouragon" (also Ourigan, Ourgan, Ouregon and Wauregan) in a 1765 letter, and running through some of the possible etymologies and pronunciations.

I say Oar uhh gun is correct.

What is the correct punctuation mark to show accent on syllable? Any way should be last syllable .

Kind of odd because it is very close to 'ouragan', which is French for 'hurricane'.

Huh? The pronunciation stress for "Oregon" falls on the first syllable: OR-uh-gun. Nobody says "or-uh-GUN."
