Mustang got hit pretty bad last night. We lost our power for about an hour and a half. Anna and I enjoyed the light show, though.

You know that is one (more ) thing that I like about Duncan (and PSO) it is VERY rare that our power goes out, no matter how strong the storms get!

Radar is looking like we might get the lawns watered pretty soon!

Speaking about watering the lawns, when I moved in I looked for the sprinklers for about 1/2 hour. I realized there weren't any. After the past couple of storms, I now know why. Don't worry folks, I'll figure stuff out as it comes along.

*giggles* Don't feel bad, really! Our first year here, after the weather turned hot I started going out in the evenings to "water the lawn" just like I had always done in CA... I slowly started to notice that none of my neighbors did this, and some people driving by gave me weird looks...

No doubt they were laughing at me! I haven't done it since and our grass stays green all summer. (4 years now! )

Well, what's funny is that's the first time we've lost the power since we moved here in February. And we've had some horrific storms. I was really quite surprised when the power went out last night.

My worst experiences with power outages was in the northwest part of Oklahoma City, in the businesses near Northwest Highway around Classen to May. We were always getting a day or more off work because of frequent power outages. I always thought it was because of all the trees near power lines.

Lots of rain and lightening in Tulsa last night. I slept through most of it. PSO was much better before it was bought out by AEP! Ten days with no power in December. Power off for 9 hours a couple Sundays ago and off for 2 hours one day last week. Now AEP wants to raise our bill by 40%. We haven't experienced anything like this since moving here in '72. We were able to get a generator in December to use on our freezer and refrigerator and a space heater. Thank God for an old gas stove and hot water heater and Girl Scout training!

My sister lives in the NW part of OKC.
