Take care, my Oklahoma friends. I keep checking in to make sure my family is in the clear (in Wewoka), but our friends in Bartlesville look like they will get it. Be careful everyone. Your in my thoughts and prayers tonight. Blessings.

The wind kept knocking the power off briefly here last night (in DFW), but not rain. We could have used some rain, the wind has dried everything out so much. And I haven't been able to run my sprinkler system for the last week because of the rain. I hope everyone stayed safe last night.

It rained and hailed here for less than an hour and then moved east taking the wind with it.
I guess it was a package deal.

We got it pretty good here...

Had to shut off the weather radio because it was getting ridiculous
even though it's programmed for only 1 county...

First there was the tornado watch alarm...
Then the severe thunderstorm alarm....
Then the tornado warning alarm...
Heard distant sirens, probably from Tulsa County...

Then the storm actually hit around midnight.
It was fierce, but it blew through in about half an hour....

Since I wasn't getting any sleep anyway, I fired up the TV
and saw that there we probably tornadoes to the East of us
after it went by... Haven't seen the news yet...

Last I saw, it was on the way towards Jessaka....
(Speaking of which... How are you Jessaka? Everything OK?)

Got to learn a new term....
"Power flashes"...

Also got to see a new phenomena...
Horizontal lightning... That was interesting....

Yep.... Oklahoma is not boring.

I'm not talking about the sky lighting up...
I'm talking about multiple bolts of sideways lightning....

When it does that, it's just warming up and trying to pick a target
