Default Kudos to the Duncan Fire Dept. !!!!

I really love living close to a fire station, and today was a good reason why...

I happened to be standing by my back door taking pics of some Doves when I hear a 'fire call' come across the scanner...

Supposed to be a grass fire in the backyard of an address about a block to the east of me. I was still trying to do the mental math and decide if it was closer to me or MK as I stepped out the door looking for smoke. (camera in hand)

This is what I saw.

Word!!! Grab the phone! Explain to Comm Center that the location originally given was wrong, as I head towards my back gate. (camera AND phone in hand! ) Fire Dept. rolled up while I was still talking to 911.

Man I love those guys!!!! I think I'll have one of the pics done as an 8 X 10 and take it down to the firehouse.

Way to go some of Duncan's finest! Firemen are our friends. They have a thankless job and get no recognition much of the time. Great idea about the photo LR, and make sure and send those folks some thanks. THEY SAVE LIVES!!

At first the first picture did actually fit. It looked like an armadillo on the other side of the fence. Then I went back to look again and saw the fire.
Some fire trucks went by here a couple of time with sirens on. I guess from another station.

LadyRobyn, thank you for saving the neighborhood

LOL! I guess I should have cropped out the basketball. That was about 3:45 this afternoon, but I don't think they turned on the sirens... I doubt they had to put the truck in second gear! The guys with the nifty suspenders did all the saving... I just caught them "in action".

You know how biased I am about them.

Which reminds me... I don't think I have mentioned that our Sailor/Volunteer Firefighter passed his EMT class! Whoo Hoo! Everything is still on schedule for him to be home in June and *hopefully* working for the Duncan FD soon after.

Correction:

I meant to say "without sirens on".

Hey LR,

Have you ever considered a career as a newspaper reporter / photographer?
I think you'd be quite successful.

I agree. She could be the "Lawton Independent" or something like that if she wanted to start her own.
