You could devise a really round-about route on the side roads if you needed to avoid Rt. 28 in an emergency, but in general Rt. 28 is the best way to get through Centreville. North of Centreville you can exit at Westfields and then take Centreville Road north. And in Manassas you can take Old Centreville Road.

Not that I know of. Manassas doesn't have a lot of different routes to it. Hopefully that will change in years to come.

here's a good tip on how to avoid the backup at the Waxpool exit on 28 N.

Here's a tip: don't take the left-hand flyover ramp from 28 North to Waxpool. Continue on to the right-hand Waxpool exit (that must be invisible because almost no one ever takes it). It is *after* the exit for Church Rd./Sterling. You can easily get into the left lanes on Waxpool that way.

Also, they just opened the northern extension or Pacific. It's a very handy shortcut to many of the buildings serviced by this intersection.
