I live near Hamlin Pa. I've heard nothing but negative things about the Hideout. My DH has known people who have lived there and it's gated but the problem is from within. Unruley kids in a gang like environment. But this is just what little bit of info that we know. We are currently are selling our house. We love it so much it's a great area unfortunetly have out grown it . We thought about adding on but don't know the first thing about finding contractors. But if it doesn't sell then who knows. The area around the hideout is nice no need for gated community maybe you can find a house in the surrounding area. Moscow , hamlin and lake ariel are great communities, safe and country like. Hope this helps

I think it really depends on what you are looking to get out of a community. Do you want golfing, pools, clubs etc? Then maybe the Hideout is an ok choice. Living close to the Hideout you can tell that people either love it or hate it in the Hideout, different strokes for different folks. We do live in the Hamlin area as well and it is a very nice, quiet place.
nepafamily, I can recommend a few people if you're looking to expand your house in this area. We too have outgrown our house with the kids but we've decided to stay and expand since we love our house

that would be great Poconosmama. We have a lake front 1 1/2 acre property and don't think it's a smart idea to give that up. it's just going to go up in price. Since lake front is limited. But i guess if someone comes along with the right price who knows.
