Hi Jdljr,
quick question I forgot to previously ask.
If I have been on unemployment "currently tier 2" ,for one year (benefit year) ended today
2-06-10 and I worked off and on ,
( part time a" total" of 10 days from this past Dec 25th '09- Jan 28th '10), I'm now not recieving part time work from this company, there are no more part time prn hrs to give.
Can I still file for my EB online, since it does list that part time employer as my last employer?
I did claim my income that I had made from that employer, those 2 weeks worked. I was surprised when browsing through my UI file that it listed this employer for that short amt. of time already. Just curious as how to proceed, since I'm still not employed and recieving any work at all from anywhere.,
Do I need to make sure they take me off their employee list, since they have no work for me anymore?
also while filing my last claim today for my previos week, I noticed at the end of filing my certification today 2-6 -10 it said, your benefit year is ended call toll free # for questions. I was certain that my week leading up to my final day of Feb 6th would be included?

thanks for your help,
sorry I'm so confusing

I don't understand what is going on.
It could have been any number of things. You could have answered a question wrong when you last certified, thus creating an issue. When you filed last week, did it tell you the certification was accepted and counted as your waiting week? Or did you just think it was your waiting week and didn't expect payment anyway, so may not have seen if it said you had issues? If you re-opened your claim online, you could have selected a wrong box or something. Also, I notice you didn't indicate any wages for 2Q2009. Were you not working or did the employer just not report wages for that quarter? If they didn't report wages, you should ask ESC for a wage protest - it could add a week or two of benefits for you.

Yes, if your benefit year ended yesterday, you would be able to certify online for it today, and it will be your last payment in that benefit year.

I would honestly call someone to file my claim (toll free initial filing line) or visit the local office because I'm not sure that, when you file your 2nd benefit year, the online system wouldn't want to use the last employer that's shown, and that wouldn't be right since it was just a part-time side job not intended to be your full-time replacement job. Some verbal clarification between you and any representative would greatly ensure that your new benefit year is filed using the correct last employer. The reason it listed that employer in your file is because you had a small amount of wages in 4Q2009, which is now being reported by employers. Also, unless the part time employer has already reported 1Q2010 wages for you (doubtful), those will still be posted after the quarter ends, probably around April timeframe. So they wouldn't take you out of their system yet.

Well thanks so much
The benefits estimator has already posted what I'd get for 14 weeks on year 2 (EB). I'd like to get going on this, since I know i have a waiting week to go.
I'll try and call (ESC)for a few hrs tomorrow(ha) I may have to drive to the local office and sit. The last time I did that for a question, that also took over 4 hrs(whew)
I agree though, that this needs to be handled with a rep.
My part time employer may have turned those 3 days at christmas '09 in?, however it wasn'treported to IRS on my taxes for '09, so that's strange. I didn't get paid for those 3 days until Jan 10th '10

FYI, if you don't have enough wages in the current base period to qualify for a new, regular UI claim and all you be doing is having your unused extension money brought forward to draw in the new benefit year, you won't have to serve a new waiting week. It's only if you're going to start over with regular UI in the 2nd benefit year that you have to serve a new waiting week.

Yes it stated I would not getpaid due to the waiting week. And I did not work the 2Q2009. When I filed today I checkedmy answers before I submitted. I emailed someone at the office hopefully they will let le know something soon.

yes, I found out I do have enough (barely) made $6000.00 quarter 4 of '08 and $3000.oo in quarter 1 '09, they qualified me for &183.00 x14 weeks plus the 25.00 from stimulus, about 200.00 less a month than I make with the stimulus money now., this is all posted today on the benefits estimator. I was sorta shocked i qualified.
Now I'm wondering what will happen with my 3 working days of PT employment dec 25-27th when i call tomorrow. Hopefully they won't consider 10 days of part time work spread out over 2 month, Dec 25th-Jan 23rd to be added in for EB and a new benefit year...ugh
would be so much easier if they'd just deny me and let me get the rest of tier 2(8 weeks)ha!
I'm hoping spring will bring new jobs to our area
(((THANKS)))))

JD or anyone I'm hoping you can help.

My EB ran out on 11/21. On 1/5 they gave me a lump sum for the Tier 3. Today my profile says Benefits Exausted. However, if you look at a cut and paste of my payment history you will see I got 11 payments. Shouldn't I receive 14 payments? If so, where are the other 3? If not, why?

Can you help please? I've tried to call the hotline last week and today and get that the lines are busy, a busy signal or serious wait times.

Any thoughts? I included my last EB payment in the cut and paste so you can see where it stopped and the Tier 3 started.

Thanks!

Tangee

Tier 3 is UP TO 13 weeks. It's not a guaranteed 13 weeks. It's a percentage (50%) of what your regular UI claim set for. So if your regular UI claim originally set for the maximum 26 weeks, then you'd get the maximum 13 weeks of Tier 3. Tier 2 was also 50%. Tier 1 is 80% and EB is 80%. If you got 11 payments of Tier 3, then your original UI claim must have set for 22 (or so) weeks.

There will be one more week of Tier 2 (called the 14th week), and Tier 4 is UP TO 6 weeks (also 50% of your original duration).

At this point you're waiting for both the 14th Week and Tier 4 programming to be finished. I have no further information on when that will be complete, and also don't know if they'll backdate Tier 4 or not. If so, there are MANY people who will also exhaust Tier 4 the first payment they get.

I received the Tier III benefits and my last week was week ending 2/6/10. Now I am back to benefits exhausted.

I was told that the systems are being updated again to release that 1 week of Tier II and the 6 weeks of Tier IV.

This is confusing, because I thought we would be continuing under the EUC08 benefits, therefore, the first week paid should have been a Tier II payment.

Please explain and how long of a gap will it be before I can continue filing?

P.S. Anyone with an answer, please feel free to respond.
