Not necessarily. It could be they are trying to appear to take the high road by compromising.
maybe so.....but perdue has said she wants a clean bill.....why not just pass a clean bill and really take the high road....they are wanting her to veto this again to take the heat off them
I believe if they try to tie the Gov to any more than 90 days then she will most likely veto the bill. She has continually asked for the 1 cent sales tax to remain in place to fund education, the Republican part of the Legislature wants to remove it.
I don't see how Tillis figures the two are tied together, with his statement "put us in a box" it shows his position is really weak. On the other hand the Governor remaining incommunicado and not addressing the situation head on, is really frustrating as well. Did she really think people like Berger and Tillis would play nice and just do what she wanted by simply vetoing and asking for a clean bill? To quote the Captain "What we've got here is...failure to communicate."

That is what I am referring to. They can be playing that they will not release a clean bill, and then go back and replace a clean bill so that they look like they compromised and took a higher road.
Tillis comments in press conference they will take up the extension of unemployment benefits today. A continuing resolution that will be rolled out in rules committee this afternoon. Tillis says original continuing resolution attached to unemployment benefits was "bit aggressive".

I find it interesting that the other House members seem completely unaware of what it going on here. They have no knowledge of the CR and EB connection. At least they are saying they don't.
You hit the nail on the head with "they are saying they don't".
