this guy is a joke......he could care less if they pass eb.....he will get his check this week....why should he care?
The whole thing is a joke to these people. No one really gives a sh-t. I just hope that it will pass one day because I am eligible if since I did get 1 EB payment!
Thanks to all of you for your systematic effort to keep all of us informed on the EB issue. Do not lose hope. I have a feeling that this issue will get resolved come next week. Continue to be proactive and continue to write and call these legislators, as well as Perdue's office.
And again we really elected these guys. Really what is the ESC going to do about the Feds telling them EB in getting cut off. Rep. Wainright knew about it before the 5th of April otherwise he would not have drafted a bill and filed it on the 5th on April. The unemployed were, as has been said before, just leverage for the republicans to try and use to get their way with the governor. She could have NOT vetoed it, yes, and then the budget could have still been changed before July 1st to suit her needs. The state budget has nothing to do with the already allocated federal funds that would keep EB going. All legislature had to do was pass H676 in less than 30 minutes and this problem would be history. Now we all pull our hair out wondering if we will see the rest of EB or any at all. Thank you everyone for all the updates. Keep praying that this problem is solved next week.
It's going to come to a head next week one way or the other. Tillis wouldn't answer my direct questions asking why he wouldn't separate the two bills. My gut is that they won't pass a clean bill. Our hope is that they can meet somewhere in the middle. Perdue's silence over this issue is a little disheartening . Hopefully she'll be less rigid and work with them to get this passed next week. PLEASE KEEP WRITING AND CALLING...ESPECIALLY THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE.

I don't think she will change her mind, and really hope she won't. We need the clean bill passed, not the extortion of the one presented.

The compromise could be that the GOP will pass a clean bill but only after they the GOV and GOP agree and finish a budget plan.
The bottom line is that they have the majority, don't really care about the unemployed and don't need to in order to stay in office. They don't need to pass anything even on July 1st. If this is happening over just the EB bill then the SAME thing is going to happen over the budget. Hince, State wide shutdowns , more unemployment . If they can't sit down and agree on the soemthing, this state is in trouble.
