Lowe's says it employs nearly 11,000 in the Charlotte region and more than 28,000 across North Carolina.

This will be SouthEnds tallest tower.

This is just another of many recent examples of local companies (Lending Tree, Lowe's, etc.) moving/expanding from the suburbs to Uptown/SouthEnd. Also, companies with traditionally Suburban campuses (IE, Honeywell, Dimensional Partners) are choosing Uptown/SouthEnd when relocating to Charlotte.

This would be just shy of the tallest building in GSO.

within a month, I believe, these office towers have been announced:

And here is just some of the taller ones U/C

Every year, Charlotte pulls much, much farther ahead than it's Carolina peers. Obviously in Urban development. Triangle overall (economy, GDP, etc. I think the Triangle might be narrowing the gap? I don't know, it's just my impression).

That's a huge announcement! Congrats to the QC for landing this.

It's nuts to think back to the dark ages of the recession, and how bleak the outlook was in terms of future development, especially since Charlotte is so reliant on the banking industry. Sure, Duke was rising, and a couple other towers had topped out or were nearing completion, but after that there was nothing on the horizon other than the federal courthouse (which is now rising across from BB&T Ballpark).

Now....holy crap, I've lost track of everything planned and under construction just in uptown and South End.

BOAT - topped out
Grand Bohemian - topped out
Tryon Place - topped out
RailYard - topped out
Deloitte - rising
FNB - rising
Ellis - rising
Federal courthouse - rising
Hawk - rising
Intercontinental - foundation work
Duke - land clearing
Spectrum - land clearing
500 West Trade - lot cleared
Moxy - coming soon
Lowe's - coming soon
Square at South End - coming soon

Add the JW Marriott, 550 Stonewall, and Honeywell. Also the inevitable demolition/major renovation of Bank of America Stadium as it was just announced today that MLS is Charlotte is further than originally thought.

^As I mentioned, I've lost track of everything lol.

In Raleigh news, looks like two seven-story buildings (one apartment, one hotel) have been proposed for Seaboard Station. They will sit on two levels of underground (!!!!!) parking.
