I think a commuter rail line from Pineville through Ft Mill on down to Rock Hill makes more sense. If the Panthers HQ/practice field makes sense as a stop along the way, fine. If not, don't go out of the way to make it happen.

There’s no reason any type of rail should be taken to any of the SC suburbs before it makes its way to the airport.

It won't. Rail to the airport is already in the pipeline.
