At the risk of getting booed, one exists for Goldsboro too.

The last few posts illustrate the reason for this thread. A one stop shop. Instead of rummaging thru multiple threads.

Assuming people actually post to it. I doubt most posters are going to post twice. Not to mention what type of projects warrant mention on a state-wide thread? Is a new Bojangles in Goldsboro (not picking on Goldsboro) really of interest to someone in the Triad, for example?

Exactly. Specific area threads are definitely the way to go, IMO.

A statewide thread is fine, IMO. But I think large projects should be the focus. No we don't need to hear about a new McDonald's opening in Charlotte, but a new 20 story tower or performing arts center is probably noteworthy.

Then the tread title should reflect your hopes for what the content will be. And that doesn't solve the issue of people thinking about/knowing to/be motivated to post the same thing on 2 different boards.

It's such a shame this website doesn't allow photos of renderings.

I think its the only one that doesn't. Even posting renderings/photos that are public domain (not copyrighted) seem to be banned. If you didnt actually take the picture or draw the rendering you cant post it. The other major urban sites allow it including photos copyrighted or not. Then there are others that allow it as long as you source it. I usually go to those sites when i want to post renderings and photos. The only thing thats banned on all of the sites is copy and pasting entire news articles.

To me posting renderings and photos encourages more discussion. If I want to do a construction photo update on Charlotte, Im sorry im not going to drive an hour and a half to take pictures just to post lol. Would be nice if rules on posting material would be relaxed a little (post it but source it). The fact that this thread is almost a month old and its only on page 2 with only a few post about actual development illustrates that.
