Better is subjective.i have a final interview where I’d sit in either DC or NYC. I vastly prefer DC. By a very long shot. So obviously I wouldn’t agree. But if you do, that’s your prerogative
Meh, Washington D.C. is cool if you're into the short buildings sort of thing. Honestly, D.C. can't compete with Charlotte's urban planning considering the fact the place doesn't have any comparable highrises. The Washington D.C. skyline is a joke.

Several people are hearing rumors of BofA maybe building a new tallest up to 100 floors..
Corp. is currently 60 floors
This reminds me of a rumor that I heard awhile back. Allegedly BofA corporate center was supposed to be Charlotte's "Washington Monument" for at least 30 years. This rumor caused a lot of head scratching when Trump had planned a taller tower some years ago.
Assuming that there's truth to the 30 year rumor, BofA Corporate Center broke ground on November 18, 1989; it was completed in 1992. A 100 story new tallest could break ground next year, and be completed by 2022 (exactly 30 years apart).
I have zero inside info. However, I do believe that Charlotte is ready for a 1,000 footer. By 2020, fifty 250ft structures will stand in uptown. By then, a 1,000 footer wouldn't look so isolated.

It would look awkward and stupid in Charlotte, not so in NYC, Chicago, Miami or Toronto. Charlotte doesn't need a new tallest of anything; focus on ground level, large parks, zoo, aquariums, etc and points of interest. It has enough tall buildings and slapping up one 30 or so story building every 2-3 years is well enough.

Agreed, I think people need to get over this "tallest" thing and focus on what is cohesive to the skyline and beneficial to the people of the city at large instead.
I'm not so sure about that. Cleveland's tallest building was designed by the same architect who designed BofA in Charlotte. At 948 ft, Cleveland's tallest is pretty close to 1,000 ft and it blends in with Cleveland's skyline from most angles. For the record, Cleveland has 35 buildings of at least 250ft tall. Charlotte currently has 40 buildings of at least 250ft tall. By the time an alleged 1,000 footer gets built in Charlotte (2022 at the earliest) there will be over fifty 250-footers in Charlotte. IMO, anything under 1,100ft wouldn't look out-of-place at all. On the other hand, I do agree that two 600-footers is better suited for Charlotte than one 1,000-footer.
When it comes to skylines of midsized cities, I prefer the Vancouver model. That city's skyline is amazing and everything is under 700ft tall.

If that’s what BofA needs, that’s what they need. I don’t think they make decisions based on building a tall building. Buildings are built when there is demand. Not because someone likes shiny towers.
And it wouldn’t look out of place. It would be no different than BofA when it was built. Hearst, Duke, BofA, New BofA, Wells should all make a 100 floor building not look out of place.
Devon tower is definitely one that looks out of place in OKC.
