What are the growth numbers for Winston vs Greensboro currently? As Charlotte and the Triangle get more expensive and crowded I could see Winston potentially start to capture more of that excess talent and growth that NC has been receiving and hopefully continues to receive. If that does happen, I wonder if Winston's lead on Greensboro in it's urban core will benefit it's growth more? Making it more attractive especially to the younger generation? Idk just a thought.
As a small side note. Nothing major but I thought this was a pretty cool little development at 107 W Hargett St. Adding a 5th floor. I appreciate the additional density while still keeping the character of the street.

Growth numbers are about the same. Its offset by other sectors in Greensboro. Greensboro leads Winston-Salem in terms of new downtown core cultural, restaurant and entertainment projects but Winston-Salem's core leads with new white collar jobs due primarily to the Innovation Quarter. Centric's announcement that it could open 200 plus high paying executive and design jobs in downtown Greensboro is a good start to having a greater focus in attracting more office jobs to downtown Greensboro. That's been downtown Greensboro's biggest challenge. Residential, cultural amenities, hotels, restaurants and entertainment are booming in downtown Greensboro though. That's going to lead to future office development.
I remember seeing an early rendering about 15 years ago and it looked very impressive. I believe it showed the angle shown in the second image, but from a nearly street-level perspective.
Progress in Winston-Salem is slow compared to Charlotte or Raleigh/Durham. However, the seeds being planted today is really going to pay off in the future.
Rumor has it a major HQ relo coming to CLT. A company not necessarily out of the market.
Hope it’s wells, but not hopeful. But I would’ve guessed that way before SunTrust/BBT
With Charlotte, everything is possible, at least when it comes to banking institutions. I hope it is Wells Fargo. It will be great for Charlotte and North Carolina
Why? What happened? Is it about the CA Dept of Insurance case?
If you are a company in California, you are on the bad list for getting any projects done.
High taxes and regulations
Companies are leaving California because it is very hard to do business there. We have California companies moving to Charlotte because it takes do long there to get any project approve, years there.
Charlotte has the largest number of employment of Well Fargo here at 24,100, at the latest count. Bigger than what is in the HQ in San Francisco.
Ally, Wells, BB&T and SunTrust would be an amazing year for the QC.
