Europeans didn’t want to pay for NATO. In fact, Merkel was specifically asked by Trump to put in Germanys share. Why the heck should Americans foot the whole bill? If Europeans are so afraid of Putin perhaps an armchair discussion should be had with him instead of piling up the nuclear arms.
Personally I think both NATO and the extremely useless UN should be dismantled. Ever since the UN was established there has been nothing but war - many of which Obama supported. Obama destroyed Libya and bombed plenty of innocents in Pakistan. He won the Nobel peace prize even before he had a chance to act as president.

So called democracy is a sham that enriches the military industrial complex with the biggest wealth transfers going to companies like Raytheon Tech. There is no need to see Russia as the boogeyman when it was NATO who installed the weapons of mass destruction in Poland and in other nearby countries. The boogeyman is in fact the United States and NATO. The American taxpayer needs to engage in more protests to rid the country of the biggest self serving idiots running it.
