since anyone transferring to dsny from another city will be in Tier 6, thus allowing all city time to count "up front" to go towards 22 year retirement, will my salary also transfer over? (see/read nycers special plan form #995 and has been verified by NYCERS). I have 10 years previous civil service time so I will only have to work another 12 years at DSNY, it would be great if some of my salary would carry over as well!!

During pre-orientation HR director said everyone starts at the same salary, even with previous civil service time.

I would double check this buddy... What nycers plan are you in now?
In all likely hood, your 10 years will carry toward the back end , you'll start at bottom pay, have to work 22 years, and retire with a 30 year pension.
Because I'm seeing if I cash out all my vacation days now or have it rolled over to dsny since it's city time.
You can't work a "full year" as a new guy since the earliest classes are in the summer... Depending on which class you get hired, some guys will have 10-12-16-18 etc... Typically your first full year (your second year) you'll get 18 or so
Any carried over city time is always on the back end. LOL carry over vacation days Ha where do these guys get this crap?
