Refer to Correction Officer - Job Opportunities - Department of Correction Must have read something wrong eh? New salary contracts have brought it to over 94k . Also since OT is MANDATORY . OT factors into your pensions avg , which unlike fdny , and I believe dsny (don't quote me) is the case. I have no clue where people get their info but it's wrong . Strictly speaking , nycdoc does pay out the most . BUT it's a dangerous job . Don't get me wrong , dsny is probably the first or second best agency in NYC
Don't worry DSNY OT is mandatory as well in a lot of cases... And once you factor in our uniform allowance, annuity payments, etc etc... The difference in pay becomes a moot point... And OT is pensionable as well.
On the danger scale, sanitation worker is consistently in the top 10, where law enforcement in any capacity doesn't even make the list...
It's not a pissing contest...just pointing out the facts... I'm sure there's plenty of COs who love their job, and ones who hate it...

DSNY is THE most dangerous job statistically out of these city jobs lists
OT IS pensionable
OT IS mandatory (we're first responders)
........Do you just randomly guess stuff
Again - no sense in talking to Venom about DOC because he is NOT in DOC. Just a fantasy of his to make him self feel better around here since people were giving him grief about his 7000 List number on the DSNY list.
Secondly - folks going back and forth with Venom is what got the last thread shut down, lets ignore him before the same happens with this one please?
To the guys on the job, does truck pay, Sunday pay, relay pay and other additional pay etc.. get factored into the salary for pension, or is it just base salary, overtime and night differential? Thanks guys
