We still have the largest Sicilian population anywhere outside of Sicily. (last I heard)

I thought New York City had the largest Sicilian population outside of Sicily.

New York has the largest Sicilian population with an even larger Italian population, while New Orleans' Sicilian population is larger than the Italian population. The French Quarter used to be known as Little Palermo.

New Orleans may be the only major U.S. city which has had at least two different mayors of African, French, Irish and Sicilian ancestry since the beginning of the 20th century.
