Granted, I have only been searching for three weeks, but I have applied to a large number of places and many different positions and still no job. I have hotel experience, office/admin, bartending, retail sales, and customer service experience.

You have applied at bars? I imagine the hundreds of them are always hiring. I can't see someone not being able to find a job in a hotel or bar in New Orleans.

Huh? I have heard that Louisiana is an entrepreneur hotbed! The states fiscal is in the BLACK and there are plenty of jobs, especially in surrounding areas.

My husband and I moved here in June. He was hired on the spot as a line cook and also works as a florr manager at a fairly well-known cafe near Tulane. It took me two weeks to find my clerical job at a law office and I had one other interview that I didn't get the job.

Yeah, don't use craigslist. Too hard to seperate the scams, spam, from the real ads.....I looked on Indeed.com and found some jobs that I've applied for...I'm not moving until I get a job.
