this is key...also make sure to leave some room between you and the car in front of you in case they don't have e-z pass. happened to me once going thru the lincoln tunnel and i was charged for it. took a very long time to get the whole thing straightened out.

Check with the car rental company, but I've never had a problem using my own EZ Pass in a rental car - no registration, just brought it with me.

i get mine from the DJRTBC which doesn't charge a fee (the bridges that span NJ and PA).
