so sad , two men killed a man for his gifts and car. what is this world coming to?

Yes, condolences.

Stay safe up there. I vaguely remember the Short Hills area from youth as a really nice place. And of course that water tower.

i really have to wonder what the whole story is. car theft is usually just that....car theft. did the guy try and fight back, or what? doesn't make it any less tragic, but what the hell? and the wife wasn't harmed, so she's a witness...

I also hear the assailants are still at large. I havnt seen a description yet though. Stolen car remains unrecovered as well. So sad and so sick!

You know what happens in NJ on claiming legitimate self defense. If the husband or wife fought back for protection, the state charges them and puts them in jail while the criminals get to walk out free after whining in front of the judge for mercy.

Here is the story. Apparently, he was a young attorney so there is a chance of him claiming self defense and winning:

how about...if someone is trying to steal your car with a gun, don't "defend" your car. i'm talking generally, as we still don't know what happened here. but if i end up reading that he faught back in any kind of way, it makes it more tragic, in my mind. it's a freaking car...
