Bad for NJ. Allowed tolls to be raised and did nothing about it despite his bs that he was not in favor of it.

Whats ironic about the situation is that when I look back at my time spent on the boardwalk as a dumb High school student I think about how stupid it was. Never once did I expect any politician to actually try and get into it while in office. Good stuff that happens only in Jersey, the one and only Soprano state.

I don't favor any bullying tactics on anyone, Tahiti, and you know that. I never made a good New Jerseyan in that way I suppose, because I am pretty non-confrontational. I am saying that most people are ideologues at heart, and are going to use a more jaundiced eye when scrutinizing the actions of a politician that they share a philosophy with. I try to maintain consistency, if anything. Christie, in this case, must learn to curb his emotions, because he is a public figure, and politicians, I believe, should try to be better than the rank and file citizen they claim to represent, because we have conferred public trust in the office they uphold. This might be naive of me to think this way, but I think politicians need to conduct themselves better in public than what Christie displayed here.

I admire Retriever's stance here, as do many others. You have to try to remove your personal politics and try to judge each case on the merits. I brought up Golan Cipel because someone who, as I suggested earlier, believes in income redistribution, expanding state entitlement programs, will forgive a McGreevey appointee while simultaneously excoriating a Christie appointee, both of who lack qualfications. Both parties do this with regard to patronage. However, most people are guilty of putting personal ideology in front of principle, when it comes to forgiving politician "a" while excoriating politician "b".

I appreciate your response and I figured this is how you felt. I don't approve of Christie's tactics any more than I approve of Al Sharpton's. This thread, to me, is NOT about Christie's politics but his demeanor yet Christie supports are the ones defending him by saying "if it's YOUR guy, you'd approve". For me, that's not true. But by saying those words "you'd approve if it's your guy" you are implicitly approving of the behavior. Once that lob was thrown, this thread (as usual) started swirling the bowl.

Why arn't you guys talking about policy such as how his policy has results in thousands of jobs in NJ and RISING home prices ... yes amazing isnt it - we have RISING homes prices in NJ thanks to the pro-business policys of Gov. Christie.

Why don't you talk that stuff insttead of the childish insults of him being a fatty and/or rude to your cup-cake/snow-flake personalitys.
"Anti-USA." Haven't heard that one in a while.

ROTFL That's exactly what I though of when I saw the part where the guard or friend put his hand on Christies back patting him while leading him away. The Soprano's immediately came to my mind. Why didn't one of his guards walk away with Christie while another guard(s) escort the loudmouthed constituent away?

I'm surprised he doesn't have a police officer escorting him and his family for protection.

Yes I agree but does it make his response right?

I don't like to compare too much because it's not like there are many choices of which two candidates to vote in office. It's quite insulting to the winning opponent to say he's only good enough because the last one or two were worse.

Really? Please enlighten us? Any attack on the family would have been dealt with by his security detail.

Escort him away for what? Ever hear of the First Amendment and the fact he is out in public?
Escorts? What do you think all those NJSP officers are doing with him?
