I'll refrain from guessing out of respect, but it is clearly somebody who misunderstands the meaning of the word "scientific".

D'oh!
I actually thought that I had read that in a post here somewhere (did I?).

Ain't she sweet?!? I remember her from A Prairie Home Companion a few years back and for a duet with John Prine called In Spite Of Ourselves which came out in 1999. Today's alt country / folk scene is alive and kickin'.

I'm so bored with music today I've been looking to the past.
IMHO it was about 1969-1970 that put out the best rock ever.

Current music doesn't really even exist anymore in my opinion, I don't really like anything that comes out now a days come to think of it. No offense to anyone who is into today's music, I think that's great because you have to like what suits you.

For me though, they just don't make music like they used to. I really love music, and everything I listen to is older stuff. Some children of today don't even realize there actually was a time when music was created with heart and soul, without using foul language, or using phony instruments or anything like that, it was made with real people and lyrics that truly meant something.

xpost - with regards to j760-

I can't help but agree that those were two great years. But then I can't help but thinking the next posters will say something like "Well, what about the 80s?" or "Man - you forgot to mention the mid 60s..." Current music is for current people. I really have no idea what I mean by that, but give me a minute and I'll think of something. >>>>> OK, let's say you're a kid. Maybe 14. You've outgrown the things that used to entertain you and now it's all about attitude, freedom, looks, sexuality. Are you going to want to give Cream, Hendrix or CCR a listen? Probably not. This was your grandmother's music. And if you do, it will be because of an older friend, brother or relative that may have introduced you to them. Kinda in the way that somebody introduced me to Howlin' Wolf or Nat King Cole. Rare is the kid that's going to want to hear that stuff. They want a soundtrack that relates to 2008. It might be an advertisement, game or movie that provides musical intrigue. But that'll do for them and it may take a lot of years for them to find the music we enjoy, or perhaps they never will. I'm strictly guessing here, but I think you get the idea.

Any true music lover, at any age, will find and locate the best music regardless of space and time. They will know the current best and the best of the past. It is a passion for the truly musical soul! Yes, SP "rare" indeed!!!! IMO.
