Thought of this on another thread. It's sad, but still quite full of passion.

Knight:

This song is exactly how I felt with my SO. I was/am just a regular person going to work everyday, doing what I'm "supposed" to do, minding my own business and loving him. As the song goes, it was just enough for me. I didn't realize that it wasn't enough for him. That's neither here nor there. It's still a nice song and wanted to share it with you.

Irish romance

Irish Molly - De Dannan - YouTube
This is pure Tin Pan Alley, but it's very cute, and a lot of Irish groups record it.

Green Grow The Rushes Oh- Cherish The Ladies - YouTube

The Lakes of Pontchartrain- Deanta - YouTube

THE SPINNING WHEEL - FOSTER & ALLEN - YouTube

Interestingly, many Irish artists do this: women sing men's songs; men sing women's. You'll note that the first and third are from the male point of view but are performed by women; the fourth, from the woman's POV, by men. I haven't noted this in other countries though it's possible I missed the pattern.

I'm a "Remington Steele" fan, and I couldn't resist this fan video which mixes "RS" scenes with Pierce Brosnan's hardy rendition of "On the Banks of the Roses", which is rather a risque romance if you read between the lyrics.

I couldn't find the version by The Irish Rovers, but this will do. If I find the Rovers' cover, I'll add it, as it's wonderful!
