Being a redhead, I love this one especially=} I actually received a genuine proposal at a reenactment event! Like a scene out of one of these songs or perhaps "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers", this big mountain man set his cap for me and refused to give up the courtship process, even bringing in his friends who swore that he was on the level and "a decent man". Later, he showed up with a photo album to show me the house he'd built in Alaska(!)~exterior and interior. I politely declined and thanked him for the compliment. The ladies around me said, "You turned him down?!" Several told me they would have said, "Yes!" *giggle* I LOVE events! BTW: We were both in garb (aka costume), so it was quite picturesque I suppose. Perhaps if he'd looked like Howard Keel...
