For years I told everyone I was a tea cup but nobody believed me. I realized that just because I called myself something, it didn't make it so. This movie can call itself a horror movie all day long, but without any horror, it isn't one.

Following up on A Fistful of Dollars, I watched For a Few Dollars More.
It's everything the first is, and more - the plot is executed well, the entertaining and capable Lee Van Cleef joins the cast, and Gian Maria Volonte's Indio is a more interesting character than his Ramon in the first film.
The motif of the tune-playing stopwatch is a nice touch. And the opening sequence (see below) is truly spectacular. A static, wide vista of a man on a horse. An unseen gun cocking. A gunshot, and the rider falls dead. Then, after the credits, this across the screen.

It may only be Sergio Leone's third-best western, but it's still one of the greatest westerns ever made!
