Mine Games (2012)
Quote:
A group of young friends make an incomprehensible discovery in an abandoned mine, but the more they try to change the future, the more they seal their fate.
The movie has 5.3/10 stars on imdb. I was in the mood for a zombie flick but found this on Netflix before coming across anything I really wanted to watch. Have to admit, with so many distractions nowadays I find it difficult to watch just any movie straight through without:
  1. getting up to make a spot of tea or coffee
  2. looking up the fine actress on imdb and her pics, or
  3. taking a bathroom break.
Maybe I was just in the mood or the stars aligned but I watched this almost all the way through, stopping once for a much needed bathroom break with under 15 minutes left. Read what you will into these words; this movie kept me engaged, YMMV.

The Deer Hunter and Maurice. Both are incredibly sad, depressing, and excellent.

"The Haunting" (1963)

Watched this late last night with my partner. Had the lights down low, and fortunately the weather was pretty poor outside (rain lashing against the windows) - which really added something extra eerie to the whole experience.

I watched this years ago as a small girl, and it scared me for days on end! And even now it still makes for unsettling moments, especially when trying to get to sleep afterwards.
