I found this movie interesting, too & very creepy subject matter. The acting was well done & I believe this was Ellen Page's first major role, pre-Juno.
I'd say scary, in that it jolted me, but then, I'm afraid of the dark, think I hear noises coming from the closet at night & have to have someone walk me upstairs if the lights aren't on ... geesh!
I remember watching this when I was a kid and I just watched it with my daughter. Can't believe all the faces I recognize. Pretty good movie still and funny too.
Joseph Flaherty and Dave Thomas. They were the canadian troopers on 70's show. Joe was the dad on Freaks and Geeks and was in Stripes. Chevy Chase, John Candy, Sandra Bernhard.
Kermit and Ernie and another muppet were voiced by Jim Henson himself who died in 1990.
I saw "The Debt" at the theatre a few weekends ago. Although Helen Mirren has top billing, she was only in 1/4 of the movie, which I saw as false advertising.
I did like the movie's theme, about Massad agents & the acting was great, particularly from the younger, unknown cast. It was difficult subject matter, which I can handle, but I always need to be in the right mindset in order to not leave the theatre feeling disturbed (as with the emaciated appearance of Christian Bale in "The Mechanic" Ans mentioned in a previous post).
It was a bit long... perhaps my thoroughly empty stomach made it seem longer, but I'd still recommend it to others. I've read on several websites that some found it anti-semetic for the negative light in which it portrayed the Massad agents. My advice would be to read a movie summary (any review mentions the issue these agents are dealing with, so you'll be aware before visiting the theatre) & decide for yourself.
I'd give it 3.5 stars out of 5, mainly as I thought I was seeing a Helen Mirren movie & she wasn't a featured player.
National Velvet, on PBS. Elizabeth Taylor as a child; good story.
One my movie collections for family viewing. Good one! Because of this movie, my grand daughter insisted on taking horse back riding lessons for two weeks ($40 a day) just to have a video showing her on her favorite horse galloping away (yeah, we spoil her.)
A bit of a twist on the question, but, has anyone seen "Mozart's Sister" & could you tell us a bit about what you liked/disliked & if you'd recommend it to others? Cheers!
it was horrible lol and super graphic and gory
