Under the Silver Lake (2018), David Robert Mitchell - 9/10.
That's three in a row for me from David Robert Mitchell - The Myth of the American Sleepover (2010), It Follows (2014), and this one. He's now officially on my list of directors who have already sold a ticket for their next film. Streamed this on amazon.
^ fun movie.
Spoiler
chock full of other movie references. there's a spin on Linda Blair's Exorcist quote you're going to die up there reference. Hitchcock dolly zoom, tailing the girl Vertigo type scenes, lots of movie posters. There's a blatant M. Knight Sh. Signs silhouette sans corn field. Terry Gilliam Fisher King type character. There's a Repo Man. Quite a few David Lynch type scenes.
Just finished watching the end of "Why Him?" again, lol. Never knew this movie even existed until one of the movie channels showed it one day. I don't have movie channels anymore so no worries if you just have basic cable that's where they all end up eventually. If you're a member of a certain "army" and a fan of Brian Cranston and James Franco then you'll love it. Great cast of well-known actors. If you're a "Hangover" or "Bridesmaids" fan then you'll love it.
Now I'm watching the end of "Monster-In-Law" where they're about to start their slapfest. I love all types of movies but this is just what happened to be on today.
I haven't heard anything about this. Did you like it?
EDIT: Never mind, I just watched the clip. I have to see this one.
We watched "Son of Saul" (2015). It's very slow, very grim (it's set in a concentration camp during the Holocaust). Feels very realistic. It was shot in a way that made you feel like you were experiencing it yourself. I know it's going to stay with me.

I enjoyed it, Mel Gibson was great in this!!
Its not as good as Brawl in Cell Block 99, but not bad for the writer/directors 3rd movie.
