I know some people may laugh at me, but I still find "Rosemary's baby" quite the hair-raising movie. This coming from a hard-core horror fan!

Nothing to laugh about. "Rosemary's Baby" is still quite scary, as is "Repulsion".

It's a shame that Polanski doesn't make horror films anymore. It's also a shame that he can't legally come back to the US, but that's a topic for another board.

1973 Jim Hutton/Kim Darby film, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. Those little pruny creatures scared me to death ("Sally, we want you"). They would rerun this on TV when I was little. Yikes.

1981 Fred Astaire/John Houseman film, Ghost Story. I was way too young to see this in the theatres, and it scared the freckles off me.

The Omen (Original)
Had some very creepy parts to it.
And Misery for its psychological aspects.

Definitely Misery. Cathy Bates was perfect for the role.

Although I've watched it at least a dozen times, I still jump and scream when the JAWS almost come aboard! The sequels left me less than enthusiastic.

Also, there was a movie along the lines of Poltergeist where the woman was followed in her car, home, brutally attacked, etc...anyone remember which one that was? Really frightening, but I'd actually like to see it again.
