"Jacob's Ladder" would have to be it for me. The ending was something I never expected. I was 20 yo and naive when I saw it in theaters. It took 15 years off my life. I remember when I finished watching it, I sat there in the theater w/ my friend feeling profound. Both of us discussed that film for hours and hours about the story line.

"Blair Witch Project" would have to be my second. It was done on a very, very small budget, but it managed to put me in a state of suspense like no other film has. And there were no use of a scary monster/killer or CGI! Yeah, the camera bouncing and jostling side to side was getting annoying, but the story and the characters were well done.

"Passion Of The Christ" would have to be my third choice. For those who have read some of my posts, I am agnostic. I was raised Roman Catholic but came to the realization of a bigger picture, but that's a another discussion. Watching this film was the only film that had me move to the edge of my seat and lean forward. Reason: after reading and listening about the suffering he endured before his crucifixtiom when I was young, and seeing it on the big screen with "no holds barred" just blew my mind! And hearing the crowd in the theater, either gasping or crying, truly made the viewing experience more compelling than any other movie.

Pink Flamingo's by John Waters.

I don't even know how to describe this film but lets just say their is a scene with a fat drag queen eating real dog poop; the most bizarre movie I've ever known.

Haute Tension was pretty screwed up. I am sooo tired of the lesbian=psycho thing anyway in movies. Oh and it was such a blatant rip off of Dean Koontz's "Intensity"...

But the chick was hot. The "crazy" one I mean.

"Little Children", with Kate Winslet, is one that sticks in my head and bugs me too. The playground scene near the end... the whole movie really, how someone can so totally lose themselves in trying to escape life.... disturbing in a different way but disturbing nonetheless.

The Talented Mr Ripley

Only movie I have ever walked out of the movie theater on. Couldn't stand to sit through another minute.

Brokedown Palace (not sure why, but this movie really freaked me out - especially since I travel overseas a lot)

Can't say if this is the most disturbing I've ever seen, but Blindness - which was just released - definitely has some disturbing moments that rival anything I have seen on film.

Besides Showgirls...

Hostel was very disturbing for me. The whole eyeball scene and the puking with the balls in their mouths - I cringed in my seat during the entire last half hour of the movie!
