I'm so tired of people blaming everything on "woke". It's not clever anymore. It's just as tired as "snowflake" was every time someone thought that was a witty insult. When did this trend start of picking one word and using it over and over and over as a weapon? Could we all please learn to use our grown up words?
I agree. We should also retire "racist" because it's not clever anymore. overdone and overworked.

I agree, it's a stupid word when used in this context. It makes me feel like a five-year-old when I say it. But I believe that it was the adherents of this philosophy who coined this word to describe their views. So you really can't blame other people for using the word that the people who follow this view have chosen. It's nothing at all like "snowflake," which was coined by "the other side" as a term of derision.
I haven't watched since '94. Sounds like I'm not missing much.
Well, this year was -- hopefully -- an anomaly. I understand why some folks don't really like award shows. But I also don't see why some people -- generally -- get so upset about award shows. No one forces anyone to watch.

To be honest, I have found that the people who don't understand the concept of "woke" are usually prime examples of people who are not "woke" (whether using that word or not).
