I may get a some flack for this, but here goes... It goes without saying that Frances McDormand is a fantastic actress, but she looked like she didn't even bother to comb her hair for the event, let alone put on make-up. I wonder why. Was she just trying to make a statement of some kine?
I am unaware of any statement, but I found it refreshing to see a lady not worry about make up or a fancy hairdo etc. Just being gracious. Better than a mile high wig & a pound of make up, & too much or too little dress.
She wasn't the host. There wasn't a host. Just a series of presenters.
Just because she's a movie star doesn't mean she has to keep her opinion to herself anymore than you do. First Amendment and all. You don't have to listen.
One thing people forget is that for centuries, art has always been a catalyst for change. That's not going to stop just because you disagree with the change they're seeking.
The Oscars wasn't the place for her to voice her opinion, and I didn't have to listen is right, that's why I turned it off the second she said that.

I disagree. There's nothing wrong with the Oscars as the place for her to voice her opinion. You just disagree with it. If it had been something you agree with, you wouldn't have had a problem with it.

After the show, did any of the blathering Hollywood fancy-pants scolds go outside and try to help the homeless people who were chased away from Union Station the night before? I seem to have missed any news about anything at all like that happening...

Nah.
I don't even care if I agree with them...
Stick to thanking everyone for your fabulous make-believe/movie award because no one cares about your personal opinions.
