Saw Unstoppable last night (2010-Hulu)

Denzel Washington & Chris Pine. Entertaining popcorn movie, lots of tense action, frenetic camera work galore. Its a total attack on your senses if you watch on a loud home theater. (I did)

Loosely based on a true story. Denzel is good in EVERYTHING, in my opinion, so I'd recommend it.

Kicking and Screaming (1995)

Not the Will Ferrell soccer movie.. but a '90s coming of age.
Recent Gen X college graduates basically drifting after graduation. I had seen it years ago, but mostly forgot it. It's similar to Singles and Slacker.
On it's entertainment merits, it was originally pretty forgettable, but it's a good time capsule now of (depressing) Gen X malaise. (Currently on Hulu).

Sort of a combo of Ghostbusters, Poltergeist, and The Haunting......as a comedy. When I decide to watch a movie at 1.3x speed, it is usually because I don't have much time and I don't value the movie that much. In this case, though, it makes the movie a charm and a wonderful laugh! Production values are good as well. A 6.6.

Picked up this movie at the video store when it came out, almost a generation ago, but apparently, as was my habit then, I didn't watch it when I recorded it (proper consumer copy in the library now). Ninety's flick but decent production values, for then, and I saw it back when I was young and invulnerable and could see myself in that role....even if Lisa Ann Russell was running around braless. The Landmaster makes a cameo. As to why tonight, well, I have a time correction mission to do tomorrow. A 7.8 but a lot of that is enabling me to remember how I felt decades ago.

This is not a one trick pony flick! Good Italian Western where every good, errr more or less, guy's bullet finds its mark perfectly. Lovely dark men of action, sinister men who take your money with a smile, and greasy without the grease banditos. A 7.2.
