Don't know about you, but I think the ST (Sequel Trilogy) SW movies kind of suck. I find nearly all the characters dull and boring, especially Rey couldn't be anymore of a dull and uninteresting protagonist of they tried. She really has no personality, no backstory, nothing much going for her. TFA was just a rehash of ANH and very by-the-numbers. The only half-decent character I felt was Poe.

And don't get me started on TLJ. It's complete irredeemable trash; boring characters again, "your mom" jokes, a stupid movie-long "chase" scene, the awful casino planet part, we never learn anything about who or what Snoke was and despite being built up as this super villain goes out like a chump, I could go on.

And then we have the whole overarching story, like we're two movies in and we have no idea what's next, what really the whole point of the ST even is, and again, we're stuck with the unlikeable boring characters. At least with RO taking place between RotS and ANH we had a clear idea what the whole point was, the characters were at least semi-interesting, Jyn Erso is a FAR better protagonist than Rey, and we got that incredible end scene with Vader that is far better than any scene shot in the ST movies:

Ever since Disney bought SW, it's been practically a dumsterfire for the series, even their SW theme park is vastly underperforming. Heck, even when it comes to video games, before Disney bought them, there were some awesome looking SW games coming out, but after they were bought, Disney cancelled all of them.

Then they came out saying all the EU (Expanded Universe) stuff was automatically considered not canon. Which had a LOT of good material, they honestly would've been far better off just making SW movies based off the EU material, like the Thrawn trilogy, Yuuzhan Vong War, etc.

The only Star Wars film I thought was amazing was the original one in 1977 (Episode IV: A New Hope). Everything that came after that bored me to tears. Sorry.

Azureth, personally I've found all the Star Wars movies (after the original trilogy), to be boring, uninspired money grabs.
They're terrible..

I never liked any of them. When the first ones came out, like everyone else I went to the theater to see it. I struggled to sit thru the entire movie. The only reason I made it was Harrison Ford. I never watched any others and have zero desire to.

I loved the first film. It was a delightful swashbuckler with light sabers.
The next two were interesting.

I liked Rogue One. A lot of characters that you could get behind, and really develop some empathy for. But, then they all died.

The Last Jedi, or whatever was so far off the charts with "Let's completely ignore the science and do what we want", I almost could not stand it.
The Star Wars series has been a significant contributor to the "dumbing down of America", IMHO.

I'm not a huge fan of science fiction, although every once in a while a sci-fi film will come along that captures my attention. Good examples were "Alien", "Stargate", and "Star Wars". And then they bring out sequel after sequel.

I liked the original Star Wars series (with, for example, Harrison Ford). But after that last one, which I enjoyed, I walked out of the theater and said to my friend, "That may be the last Star Wars film I ever go to". "Why?" "Because they just keep doing the same old thing in almost every episode. It's time to wrap it up". Same with the "Alien" series. Nothing new for years.

Interesting how many people here watched the OT in theaters. I do wonder if whether you like the series a lot depends on whether you were already an adult or like me, grew up watching them a bunch on VHS as a kid.

They remind me of Bad Robot Star Trek (2009 and Into Darkness), but even less entertaining.
I lost interest in Star Wars after 2005. These days the most interesting part of Star Wars is Disney's slapstick mishandling of their $4 billion investment.
