There's a certain segment of comic book fandom that is, let's face it, insane. They decided this movie was awesome long before they saw it.

I'd like to see it, but I'm waiting for the DVD. I haven't seen any of the previews the inspired me enough to fork up the cash for a theater visit.

I'm going with my movie group to the first showing, only $6 and might use my fandago $3 discount, so it will end up costing only $4 after fee deduction. Not such a bad deal for the big screen experience even if turns out to be a dud, which I'm hoping it won't be too much of. It really doesn't look so great of what I've seen so far. Maybe this time, I'll be pleasantly suprised.

Let us know what you think!

I loved The Dark Knight. But I thought Batman Begins was just sorta ... meh. Not bad at all, but nothing spectacular. TDKR looked closer to BB, so I'll save my attention for the DVD.

Apparently not all the geeks love this. Harry Knowles, both a comics and movie geek, actually hated it: Ain't It Cool News: The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news.

Warning: His review has both spoilers and profanity.

Looks like my decision to save my money was a good idea.

I'm thinking the movie pulls in $33 million alone tonight with the midnight showings. In my area alone in Plano,Texas Cinemark has it's big theaters showing up to 18 screens dedicated to the movie. They start at midnight and are spaced up to 1:00 AM. 12 of those screens in one building as of 3:00 Central in the afternoon are sold out.

The Dark Knight Rises is set to appear at 4,404 locations. The Avengers had 4,349 locations upon release. Box office mojo is predicting $214.7 million for it's opening weekend which would beat the Avengers opening record.

Yeah, one guy's not stopping me.

I don't miss a Batflick, I'll judge for myself.

There really is something wrong with people for sure, earlier, I was watching the news and they reported that over on Rotten tomatoes they had to stop taking reviews due to insane aruguments and death threats breaking out over the movie on their site. It's one thing to voice opionions, but duamn people need to find Jesus, Allah, buddah, crystals or something and this is coming from an agnostic.

Just wanted to say, I frackin loved this movie, sooooo awsome. First of the blockbusters for summer I wasn't disappointed to any degree. Not even long enough. I might have to see it again with an afternoon crowd. Not the same kind of movie as the previous DK, but to me, just as good for different reasons.

There was a box office blackout put into place late Sunday on movie earnings over the weekend. By the end of the day today, we should get some figures on the weekend take.
